For decades Foy has been helping various productions, small and large, with flying scenic elements that not only compliment the shows but carry an aesthetic and technical value that's sure to be a crowd pleaser! Click on any of the links below for more information on a few of our most popular flying objects.

"…the balloon is ready for flight and in that conveyance, my dear Dorothy, you and I will return to the land of E Pluribus Unum!"

Foy's balloon basket for The Wizard of Oz is designed to be something of an illusion, much like the Wizard himself. When viewed from the front, it appears to be a full-size balloon basket, but the side view reveals a minimized upstage/downstage dimension.

The basket's slim profile allows maximum lift for the effect, while preventing unwanted entanglements with rigging and electrics positioned upstage and downstage of the balloon basket in a full hanging plot.

A fully dimensional square balloon basket is available for use in venues with unrestricted overhead rigging space.

“It's always best to start at the beginning – and all you do is follow the Yellow Brick Road.”

In the classic 1939 film, The Wizard of Oz, the appearance of a great glowing bubble of light gracefully descending from the sky over Munchkinland heralds the entrance of Glinda, the Good Witch of the North.

For the stage musical version, Flying by Foy offers a brilliant aluminum hoop structure with a minimal profile, yet strong enough to support an army of Munchkins.

Our bubble can be dressed with an array of colorful flowers, silks, garland or any other materials you may choose to complete the illusion and perfectly compliment your show’s production design.
